The population of 172 settlements of the Liozno region is 18.9 thousand people, including 6.4 thousand residents of Liozno and 12.5 thousand rural population. Belarusians account for 83.7% of the population, Russians - 13.6, Ukrainians - 1.2%, other ethnicities - 1.5%.

People in prime working years account for 56% of the population, children under 15 – for 16% and the youth under 31 – for 22%.
