Glubokoye Condensed Milk Factory exports to Israel on the rise

VITEBSK, 2 November (BelTA) – The Glubokoye Condensed Milk Factory increased its exports to Israel three times this year, BelTA learnt from the company. The factory shipped its first 24.5-tonne batch of dairy products to Israel in 2010. Business cooperation has been considerably expanded this year. The second batch of condensed milk in tins and tubes amounting to $38,200 has already gone to Israel, with two more pending shipment this year. “Israel’s market is not small but promising. Therefore, increasing supplies to that country is quite a success for the Belarusian factory,” the specialists noted and added that additional measures are taken to build up the company’s presence on the market. This summer the company received a kosher certification for the production of condensed milk. Certification confirms high quality and purity of the products the company uses. The document provides the dairy with an opportunity to expand supplies of condensed milk to Israel. The first supplies of kosher products are planned for 2012. The relevant negotiations are underway. In 2011, the factory increased deliveries to Ukraine, one of the top sales markets of the Glubokoye Condensed Milk Factory. In January-October its share in total exports accounted for 1.4%. Russia and Kazakhstan accounted for 70% and 18.6% respectively. Deliveries were also made to Canada, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Armenia. In January-October the Glubokoye Condensed Milk Factory exported products worth $39 million, up 5% from the same period last year. The share of exports amounted to 60% of total sales. The enterprise was founded in 1966. In 1998 it was transformed into a joint stock company. It operates the Braslav production branch (former dairy) and the Mnyuto agricultural enterprise. The factory produces canned milk, butter, dry milk, whole-milk products, casein, and hard cheeses. The product range includes more than 120 items. The factory employs 1,100 people. In January-September, the output was up by 51% from the same period last year to a total of Br269 billion. Return on sales was 13%.
