VITEBSK, 24 November (BelTA) – Western European traders have shown interest in the new product of Verkhnedvinsk Creamery – desalted whey powder, BelTA learnt from company’s Director Piotr Lavrinov.
After a new shop floor to produce whey powder with various demineralization levels was commissioned this summer, the products of the Verkhnedvinsk company became very popular on foreign markets. The whey obtained during milk processing is rich in milk proteins, lactoglobulin, milk albumin and immunoglobulin. Desalted whey powder can be used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, in the production of baby foods.
Piotr Lavrinov explained that the company needs to certify its products to be able to cooperate with Western European countries. The company has already started doing it.
The new shop floor can produce 200 tonnes of whey per day. At present, the company is using 90% of the designed capacity of the shop floor. The shop floor processes whey obtained during the production of cheese and raw materials from three milk processing companies of the oblast. This is a non-waste and eco-friendly production.
The investment project was implemented in line with the government program to process whey and produce milk powder.
