Two more Belarusian peat plants can now sell peat to China. Deputy Director General of the Belarusian fuel and gasification industrial group Beltopgaz Valery Kovalev mentioned it during a conference held in Kossovo, Ivatsevichi District, Brest Oblast on 28 October to discuss the development of the peat industry. Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich took part in the conference, the ministry's press service told BelTA.

Valery Kovalev noted that the Belarusian peat plants Glinka and Vitebsktorf had been granted accreditation for sales to China. The official reminded that the first train loaded with peat was sent to China in September by the peat-extracting enterprise Turshovka. The train has already reached Beijing, has been unloaded, and the freight has been sent to consumers. “Our Chinese partners intend to buy a total of six trainloads of Belarusian peat,” he added.

The accreditation of two more Belarusian peat-extracting enterprises for sales to China will allow Belarus to export more peat to foreign markets.
