Macroeconomic stabilization plan based on economic laws

VITEBSK, 31 August (BelTA) – The macroeconomic stabilization plan of the government and the National Bank is based on objective economic laws, Piotr Shershen, director general of Vitebskoblgas, member of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic of the Belarusian National Assembly, told BelTA. “The economy is developing under its own rules; and the action plan of the government and the National Bank proposed at the President’s session is based on market laws. It will be easier for the business community to operate in these conditions,” Piotr Shershen is convinced. He said that it is impossible to stabilize the economy without strict labor discipline and technologies. Moreover, an employee should be confident about his social protection. According to Piotr Shershen, the Energy Ministry is considering a possibility to provide financial aid to employees of subordinate companies. Social protection will be provided, first of all, to low-income employees and qualified specialists. According to Piotr Shershen, the stabilization of the economic situation depends to a large extent on the solidarity of Belarusians. “Measures to stabilize the macroeconomic situation prove once again that the government will not stray from the path defined at the Fourth All-Belarus People’s Congress, no matter how hard it is,” he added.
