Belarus plans to increase first category wage rate

MINSK, 29 august (BelTA) - Belarus plans to increase the first category wage rate, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told Belarusian pedagogues on 29 August. According to the President, the main principle of state policy in Belarus is the interests of people. “We will take care of people in this difficult period. On my instructions, the government developed a number of measures on social protection of various groups of the population, which will be implemented in the coming days,” the Belarusian leader said. In particular, state employees and non-working pensioners will be entitled to financial assistance in the amount of Br500,000 for the purchase of seasonal farm products. “Then we are planning to increase the first category wage rate for the employees of the budget-financed organizations. Allowances for families with children will be increased on a quarterly basis. In the fourth quarter of this year we are set to double a lump sum payment for childbirth. Pensions and scholarships will rise too,” the President informed. “We will continue to keep the situation in the economy and social sector under control,” the head of state said.
