Belarus President urges manufacturers towards fast profits

BESHENKOVICHI, 13 May (BelTA) – Enterprises able to earn profits fast should be set up, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his working trip to Vitebsk Oblast on 13 May. Alexander Lukashenko recalled his previous day’s visit to the fruit storage facility of the agricultural company OAO Alexandriyskoye and the company’s experience of growing pleurotus mushrooms. At that time the head of state made the decision in favor of building a mushroom growing factory. The enterprise is effective, boasts 100% profitability and requires virtually zero investments. “The demand for these products is crazy. It brings money fast. Three people are employed but the output is colossal,” said the President. “If there is a demand, it should be done. It is necessary to seek ways to earn money fast”. Speaking about the previous day of his working trip, the President said that Shklov District may serve as an example of fine agricultural practices for other regions of the country. “I think it would be wise to pay closer attention to Shklov District. We somehow managed to come up with what we need. It is one of the ways of how things should be done. This year virtually all agricultural enterprises of Shklov District will operate in the black without state subsidies,” said the President. Alexander Lukashenko added that the state had poured investments in some areas and does not feel a proper response yet. Shklov District works well this year, therefore, the head of state believes, other regions of the country could use its management practices. Alexander Lukashenko thanked Vitebsk Oblast Governor Alexander Kosinets for considerable advances in agricultural practices. “Changes in Vitebsk Oblast farming standards are amazing but there are things to improve still,” said the head of state. “If your work everywhere else is as good as what I’ve seen, it is a major change. But it is only a half. The rest should be done this year,” added Alexander Lukashenko. Alexander Lukashenko warned against economic mismanagement, threatening to cut down the funding of state programs.
