Belarus President’s visit to Kazakhstan success

ASTANA, 24 May (BelTA) – The presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan are satisfied with results of the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan, reads a joint statement signed by the presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan after talks in Astana on 24 May. The joint statement stresses that the visit went in an atmosphere of friendship, mutual understanding and trust. “The affinity of views on topical matters on the bilateral agenda and the international one as well as agreements that have been reached underline progressive development of Belarusian-Kazakh strategic partnership,” the document reads. The sides also stated that the treaty on friendship and cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan is the foundation for consistent expansion of interstate relations, which are based on traditions of solid friendship between nations of the two countries and mutually beneficial cooperation. Alexander Lukashenko thanked Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev for warm welcome and hospitality. Alexander Lukashenko invited Nursultan Nazarbayev to visit Belarus at a convenient time. Apart from that, an agreement on cooperation between the interior ministries of Belarus and Kazakhstan was signed in Astana on 24 May along with an agreement on cooperation between the defense ministries in safe flights of state aircraft, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the area of government communication. Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov was the one to sign these documents from the Belarusian side.
