Lukashenko: Enlargement will make agricultural companies more effecient

KAMENETS DISTRICT, 6 April (BelTA) – The enlargement of agricultural companies will enhance their efficiency, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he visited the Belovezhsky company in Kamenets District on 6 April, BelTA has learnt. Sharing his impressions of what he saw Alexander Lukashenko noted that he is rather cautious about creating large companies like the one he visited. “Our farmers are used to seeing and want to see the company chief every day. However, we have no alternative, we need to enhance the efficiency, as small companies are inefficient,” the head of state said. Alexander Lukashenko noted that instead of destroying the existing facilities and building new ones, Belovezhsky opted for the upgrade and the strategy proved right. However, the president continued, the reorganization of farms is a compromise decision although it is efficient and successful. These farms will serve the base for new and larger agricultural companies. “A farm for 1,100 head will solve the issues in the dairy industry by 30%,” the Belarusian leader believes. Apart from that, it is no less important that the company has created a comfortable working environment and extensive social services. Alexander Lukashenko visited one of the vehicle depots to see the operation and storage of agricultural machinery. The head of state was shown a special vehicle for the maintenance of the machines and tractors. It is equipped with all the necessary devices for the vehicle check-up and repairs and can operate in the field. There are over 130 such machines in Belarus, and their number is expected to grow. Alexander Lukashenko was informed about the data retrieval system of Belagroservice. The system is designed to facilitate the search for available spare parts and aggregates in stock. Addressing head of the Belovezhsky company Yury Moroz, Alexander Lukashenko said that two years from now he will visit the company again to see how the company managed the new facilities.
