Vitebsk Oblast small businesses increase payments to budget by 25%
VITEBSK, 1 June (BelTA) - In January-April this year small businesses of Vitebsk Oblast transferred almost Br220 billion in payments to the budget, up 25% from the same period in 2010, BelTA learnt from the press center of the Vitebsk Oblast Inspectorate of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties.
Oktyabrsky District of Vitebsk has contributed the largest to the budget, three times as more. Beshenkovichi District increased payments more than 2.5 times. Another five rural regions reported a 1.5 time increase in payments.
In general, the share of payments from small businesses to the consolidated budget accounted for 15.2%. Among the districts the largest share was posted by Shumilino District where small businesses in January-April generated more than 50% of the district revenue as well as by Vitebsk (almost 40%) and Polotsk (more than 36%) districts.
As of 1 May, there were more than 37,500 small businesses in Vitebsk Oblast, including nearly 8,200 juridical entities and over 29,300 entrepreneurs. The number of enterprises and organizations increased by 10% compared with those in the four months in 2010; the number of individual entrepreneurs remained unchanged.
As of 1 May, 27 small businesses had arrears to the budget. Compared with the data as of early April the number of debtors among this category of taxpayers doubled; the amount of debt increased eightfold to Br2.5 billion.
