Two national dairy companies may be set up in Belarus
ORSHA, 13 December (BelTA) – The government is considering the possibility of setting up two national dairy companies, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told media on 13 December.
“It is necessary to effectively use the opportunities that will be brought about by higher milk output,” said the head of government. “It is most likely we will have two national dairy companies”. According to the Prime Minister, the companies will be set up without damaging interests of existing companies. The new companies will support competition and effective implementation of public private partnership.
One of the companies may involve Brest-based enterprises, the other one may involve Minsk-based ones. There are plans to get representatives of feedstock areas involved as well as representatives of processing industry, commercial banks.
Yet the head of government pointed out that no final decision concerning the establishment of the two dairy companies has been made. “I think we will submit concrete proposals to the head of state by the end of the year,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
