Extremely competitive recreation now available in Belarus’ Lepel District

VITEBSK, 22 July (BelTA) – Extreme recreation in forsaken villages is now available in Lepel District of Belarus, BelTA learned from Nonna Sevzdina, the organizer of the project and director of the Lepel organizational and instructional center. The project is in essence a Belarusian version of the reality show Survivor full of Daniel Defoe’s romanticism. Five young families have been left in a hard-to-reach village, which only resident is an elderly dacha amateur, who spends summer there. The organizers have forbidden alcohol and smoking. The survivors are allowed to keep hygienic items, disposable tableware and articles required to perform tasks. The points the survivors get through winning are vital for survival and for the final victory. These points can be used to buy food in a local sales van at hefty prices. Sharing food with competitors is forbidden. Only barter is encouraged. The first team of survivors will spend three days in the countryside on 22-24 July. They will have to complete about ten tasks. One of them is catching a goose and making dinner out of it. The urban dwellers will have only their hands to do it and will have to buy dinner ingredients from the sales van. In their spare time participants of the recreational trip will have to try to restore a tumble-down house where they will live. The organizers will evaluate the effort at the end of the project. Results of the project will be summed up in the evening of 24 July. The organizers believe this kind of extremely competitive recreation can attract fans of extreme travels and will be popular in the district.
