Orsha Airfield ready for operation
Orsha Airfield is ready for operation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.
"On 3 November, based on the results of a technical flight and following the decision of the Aviation Department’s certification commission, Orsha Airfield has been issued a certificate of airworthiness," the press service said.
As the final stage of the certification procedure, a technical flight was performed to Orsha on 2 November. Director of the Aviation Department at the Transport and Communications Ministry Artem Sikorsky took part in the technical flight on the Boeing 737-500 aircraft to check the readiness of the airfield and to assess the quality of its services.
"A certificate on the compliance of the airfield with certification requirement was issued following the technical flight," the press service noted.
Orsha Airfield can accommodate various types of aircraft, including wide-body aircraft such as A-330, A-340, B-747, B-767, and helicopters of all types at any time of the day.
