Pskov to adopt Vitebsk’ experience in cleaning streets from snow

VITEBSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Representatives of the utility companies of Pskov will adopt the experience of their Vitebsk colleagues in cleaning streets from snow. A representative delegation of the city-partner arrived in Vitebsk on 10 February, BelTA learnt from the ideology department of the Vitebsk City Hall. The delegation headed by the first deputy head of Pskov administration Sergei Fedorov will study the experience of Vitebsk in the provision of housing and utilities services, including cleaning of streets, yards, and roofs from snow. The visiting delegation will visit the municipal enterprise “Vitebsk City Utilities” and district housing repair and maintenance companies. The Pskov delegation will meet with Chairman of the Vitebsk City Hall Viktor Nikolaikin to discuss further development of partnership links. In particular, the sides will focus on the ways to increase the volume of shipments of meat and dairy products, other goods of Vitebsk producers to Pskov Oblast, increase the number of exhibitions and fairs, and participation of Russian partners in joint projects in the industrial sector. According to the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Vitebsk City Hall, in 2010 the foreign trade of Vitebsk with Pskov totaled $10,205.9 thousand, up 41.8% from 2009. Exports amounted to $ ,536.4 thousand, up 59.4% as against 2009. Major export items were wood products (window frames, doors), dairy products, poultry, carpets, bricks, ready-made garments. In 2010 imports totaled $1,669.5 thousand, which accounted for 90.8% of imports in 2009.
