Space band launches countdown to Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk

VITEBSK, 7 July (BelTA) – The French electronic music group Space and its leader Didier Marouani opened a countdown to the 20th International Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk with their concert on 6 July, BelTA has learnt. There have been great preparations for the concert. The music band held numerous rehearsals, checked its equipment (special effects are a main characteristic of electronic music). Didier Marouani wearing a jacket with blinking lamps performed his old compositions as well as those from his latest album “From Earth to Mars”, talked to the audience that in return gave generous applause and praise. “We have played in Russia many times, we were in Minsk several years ago, and everywhere we were warmly welcomed, but you are the best audience,” Didier Marouani said addressing Vitebsk residents and guests. According to the festival organizers, Didier Marouani accepted an invitation to partake in the Slavonic Bazaar without a moment’s hesitation. The composer has been well-informed about the festival as well as technical preparedness of the stage. The 20th International Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk will be held on 8-14 July. The first concerts, however, have already been given before an official start of the festival.
