Belarus President extends Christmas greetings

MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Belarusian Christians who celebrate Christmas on 7 January, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. According to the President, over two thousand years this solemn holiday has brought us joy and hope, taught us to follow moral commandments, express our love towards our neighbors and do good deeds. “On Christmas days a simple truth reopens to us: where there is no consent, trust and mutual support, there will be neither happiness, nor the fullness of being. And if we want to change our life for the better, than we should first of all preserve our spiritual strength, the cohesion of our people, raise young people on the basis of traditional values and ideals of Belarusians. It is only unity that will make us strong, free, able to transform the world, will become the basis for new accomplishments,” says the message of congratulations. Alexander Lukashenko wished his compatriots good health, cheerful spirits and every success for the benefit of Belarus. “May the warmth of the divine holiday of Christmas always keep your families warm and help you take better care of each other. May the coming year make us happy through new achievements, bring coziness into each home, prosperity and mutual understanding,” the Belarus President wished.
