Belarusians promised steady incomes in 2011

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) - Real cash incomes of people will not fall in 2011 as compared with 2010, Vice Premier of Belarus Sergei Rumas said at a joint meeting of the two chambers of the National Assembly. “Real cash incomes of people in 2011 will make up not less than 100% of cash incomes in 2010,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. Sergei Rumas acknowledged that in the current economic environment "there are some objective adverse phenomena, the most painful of them is the worsening of the living standards.” The Government has set up a system to identify emerging threats; measures are being taken to minimize them. The main task of the state policy is to preserve the real value of wages. In January-September 2011, the level of real disposable money incomes of people amounted to 104.8% as compared to the corresponding period of last year. The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the Government takes measures to balance out the consumer market. Necessary range of consumer and industrial goods are available in retail networks. The consumer market is supplied mainly with indigenously-produced goods. Growth of the consumer market is expected to remain in place before the end of this year. “Prices for goods will be affordable,” Sergei Rumas said.
