New approaches to young Belarusians sought

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Old methods should be forgotten. Instead new methods and approaches that take into account ways of the modern world should be sought to bring up young Belarusians, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the government session held on 17 January to discuss the national program 2011-2015 Youth of Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian head of state told BelTA. The President pointed out that little is done to bring up young Belarusians. The area lacks consistent efforts, he said. The President doubted the advisability of adopting a youth program. “Get down to concrete things!” demanded the head of state. “We need to do something as far as young Belarusians are concerned. They are the people that will replace us tomorrow. They should take the country into their hands and protect its independence and sovereignty, they should secure respect for Belarus and so on. What to do? Sit down and think!” Alexander Lukashenko told participants of the session. “Think about what we can do to improve attitude development of young Belarusians starting with the president and ending with primaries of public organizations”.
