Office of Belarus’ honorary consul to open in Slovenia

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – The Office of the Honorary Consul of Belarus will open in Ljubljana during the Belarus-Slovenia ministerial consultations that will be held in the Slovenian capital on 17-18 February, Andrei Savinykh, Press Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, told a briefing on 17 February, BelTA has learnt. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Head of the European Directorate of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Alexei Skripko, the Slovenian one by Political Director at the Foreign Ministry of Slovenia Matej Marn and Head of the Directorate for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Slovenian Foreign Ministry Branko Rakovec. The parties are set to discuss the political relations, trade and economic cooperation, the development of the bilateral legal and treaty framework, cultural links. A special focus will be placed on the relations of Belarus and the EU, including the Eastern Partnership Initiative, a dialogue within the framework of the UN, the OSCE and the Council of Europe. The head of the Belarusian delegation will take part in a solemn opening ceremony of the Office of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Ljubljana Ernest Aljancic, hold talks with the administration of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, and representatives of the Slovenian business community who do business in Belarus.
