VITEBSK, 3 June (BelTA) – An agreement on cooperation between the Vitebsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Hai Phong was signed during a visit of a Vitebsk Oblast delegation to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in late May, BelTA learnt from general director of the BCCI Vitebsk Office Valery Budkevich.
The document will contribute to the development of good neighborly relations between the regions. It will also help establish and expand business cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam, expand into the new market. Interaction with Vietnamese partners will provide an opportunity to the Vitebsk Office to become more efficient in assisting local companies in finding business partners and diversifying exports. All in all, the Vitebsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed over 70 agreements on cooperation with foreign partners.
The main goal of the visit of the Belarusian delegation was to present economic opportunities of Vitebsk Oblast, discuss potential areas of cooperation. The delegation included the senior officials of the regional administration and representatives of the companies interested in developing business contacts with Vietnamese partners in various fields.
During the talks between officials of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and the People’s Committee of the Vietnamese city the sides noted that Vitebsk and Haiphong have good prospects for cooperation in cultural and social sectors, tourism and business. This creates an interesting and mutually beneficial basis of future cooperation. A memorandum of understanding between Vitebsk Oblast and the Province of Hai Phong could become a good impetus to such cooperation.
The business part of the visit included business meetings, business matchmaking sessions. Following the talks, a contract for the supply of alcoholic beverages was signed between the Vitebsk Liqueur and Vodka Distillery "Pridvinie” and Au Viet Industry. In addition, one of the largest Vietnamese companies Hapako expressed willingness to work with Belarusian partners to deliver food products to the Vietnamese market, and to supply coffee, tea, fruit to Belarus. The sides also discussed possibilities for cooperation in engineering, agriculture, tourism.
