Belarusian Postavy to host international dulcimer music festival on 3-5 June

VITEBSK, 31 May (BelTA) – The 14th international dulcimer and accordion music festival will take place in the Belarusian town of Postavy, Vitebsk Oblast on 3-5 June, BelTA learned from Galina Chaplinskaya, Head of the Ideology Department of the Postavy District Executive Committee. The event will gather music bands and representatives of business circles from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, China, Kazakhstan, Israel and Poland. The organizers expect around 800 guests. The festival will begin with a press conference of representatives of music band delegations, local authorities and the organizing committee in the evening of 3 June. The forum will be solemnly opened in Lenina Square with participation of the I. Zhinovich National Academic People’s Orchestra of Belarus. The event will involve a musical and theatrical performance “Ball in Postavy”. The first day will end with colorful fireworks. An economic forum is one of the key events scheduled for 4 June. The local company Belit, furniture manufacturer Postavymebel, the Postavy dairy factory, the local flax factory, the fish farm Novinki, agricultural companies, farm tourism and ecological tourism companies will present investment proposals before foreign businessmen. Apart from that, guests of the festival will be able to visit a folk crafts exhibition, a concert by amateur talent groups. A competition in playing folk music instruments will be arranged. A theatrical performance “Music of Belarusian palaces and manors” will be arranged as well as a youth dancing program and an ethnic music disco party. The final day will feature a classic music concert, a theatrical rally and a gala concert involving the G. Tsitovich National Academic People’s Choir of Belarus.
