Civil servants and employees of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee took part in a water campaign dedicated to the National Unity Day

The event was aimed at patriotic, spiritual, and environmental education, preserving the traditions of the mass tourist movement, developing interest in natural attractions, and popularizing outdoor activities. The organizers were the structural divisions of the regional executive committee and regional trade union organizations.

The program of the water hike consisted of three stages: tourist, local history and sports and entertainment. The starting point of the route was the village of Zapolye, where the participants were greeted with a loaf by local residents, a commemorative rally and laying flowers at the military memorial took place. After that, 13 kayaks (two people per team) rafted along the Usvyacha River for three hours to the settlement of Novoselki.

The Belarusian state symbols were present on each board. At the end of the event, all participants received commemorative diplomas signed by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

– It was very atmospheric and emotional! And although many participated in such a campaign for the first time, it was clearly felt that together we are a force. My colleague and I became the winners and came to the finish line first. It wasn't easy, but I think we coped with the difficulties with dignity! – said Lilia Lukashova, chief specialist of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the regional executive committee.

– The event is very interesting and memorable! Our large team acted in unison. I would like such fun, kind and meaningful events to be held from year to year, – Marina Gudym, chief specialist of the Department for the Disposal of state property of the regional Executive Committee, shared her impressions.

– It is symbolic that employees of various structural divisions of the regional executive committee and residents of the Vitebsk region took part in the event dedicated to the National Unity Day, – said Denis Shkiryanov, Deputy head of the Department of Sports and Tourism. – Such a campaign is being held for the second year in a row, but this time the number of participants has increased significantly. For those who have never rafted on the river, the distance became a difficult test, but we came to the finish line as a real close-knit team, and every small victory resulted in great emotions!
