In January-September 2008, Belarus’ broad money supply was up 22.1% to exceed Br29.9 trillion, BelTA learnt from the information department of the National Bank of Belarus. In September the broad money supply was up 1.2%.
Over the nine months of 2008, the cash in circulation totalled Br4249.8 billion (up 27.9%). The cash in circulation accounted for 14.2% of the broad money supply.
As of October 1, 2008, corporate and individual transferable deposits amounted to Br6295,9 billion, up 16.2% over the nine months this year. Other deposits in the national currency grew 27.1% to total Br8885,1 billion.
Investments in bank bonds were up 7.2% in January-September to Br1105,4 billion.
By October 1, 2008 the volume of foreign currency deposits reached Br9265,2 billion, up 20.8% from early 2008.
The volume of foreign currency bank bonds expanded by 74.1% over the nine months to Br114.2 billion.
