The Customs Union’s first single certificate was presented to the Midea-Horizont joint venture for its new models of microwave ovens in Minsk on 16 September, BelTA has learnt.
Simultaneously these products were awarded the certificate of conformity of the national system of verification of conformity of the Republic of Belarus and the European certificate confirming the compliance with the EU Directives and the right to mark the products wit the CE mark. The single certificate enables the direct supply of the products to Russia and Kazakhstan. This is the first certificate presented to a manufacturer in the Customs Union.
The certificate was presented by Director of the Belarusian State Institute for Standardization and Certification Valery Gurevich.
The microwaves were tested by the Belarusian State Institute for Standardization and Certification. This saved the company a lot of time and money while undergoing procedures necessary to supply the products to the domestic market and the markets of the Customs Union and the EU.
According to Valery Gurevich, the single certificate has been awarded in Belarus for the first time. This certificate is like three-in-one: one certification procedure allowed issuing three certificates.
The company has got the right to export its products to the European market and expand the commodity distribution network in the Customs Union and the CIS.
The Belarus-China joint venture Midea-Horizont produces microwave ovens. At present, the company manufactures 1.5 million ovens a year. Over the eight months 2010, the joint venture turned out 500,000 microwave ovens. According to the Chinese side, the joint venture is the example of Belarus-China cooperation. “Our enterprise receives great support from the governments of the two states,” Director of the company Tang Haiyang said. At present, the sides are busy discussing the cooperation prospects of the joint venture. There are plans to launch the production of ovens, baking ovens, grills, vacuum cleaners, heaters and fans.
