VITEBSK, 25 November (BelTA) - More than a hundred athletes from three countries will take part in the Slavic Games international trampoline tournament for the prizes of the world and European champion Dmitry Polyarush, which opens today in Vitebsk, BelTA learnt from director of children’s sports school No 2 Galina Romanovich. The tournament, which has been held annually since 1974, has brought together 13 teams from the United States, Russia, and all regions of Belarus. Participants will compete in the individual and synchronized events in the three age groups (under 13, 14-17 and 18 years and older). In the preliminary round of the judging panel will assess the complexity of jumps and techniques of athletes. The top eight athletes in each event and each age group will compete for the top prizes of the tournament. An official award ceremony will be held in the Central Sports Complex of Vitebsk on November 26. The tournament is organized by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, Vitebsk City Hall, children’s sports school No 2, and department of physical education, sport and tourism of the Vitebsk City Council.
