Oleg Proleskovsky: Civil servants should talk to working people more

VITEBSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Civil servants should talk to working people and appear in mass media more, Belarusian Information Minister Oleg Proleskovsky told media on 13 June after he met with workers of the Vitebsk-based company KIM. After multiple tours around the country and meetings with the public Oleg Proleskovsky believes that the people of Belarus treasure independence above all else. “The most important thing is that people understand that we have built a country. They are ready to pull in their belts but Belarus will prevail,” he is convinced. Fair criticism of enterprise heads and civil servants, who fail to perform instructions of the head of state in a timely and precise manner, was voiced during meetings. “If all of us managed to perform instructions of the President precisely and on time, we would have an easier time now,” said Oleg Proleskovsky. It is primarily applicable to the fulfillment of government programs for import substitution and the introduction of locally available fuels. “People know that the President-led authorities will fulfill their promises. The authorities should go and inform using newspapers, television and radio. People should understand the essence of what the government is doing,” the Information Minister is convinced. Despite having to cut down funding for state programs the state will remain people-oriented. “People will be the cornerstone. The slogan the President took to the election ‘We are together’ has a second meaning now. Only together we will get out of the current situation stronger and more united,” stressed Oleg Proleskovsky.
